This is a 6-part series I’d put together during the first year of Covid.  It originally began in 2011 as a research project on Shankara; because of something that Sri Aurobindo had said that startled me :

“Buddha only preached and lived a holy life, Christ only preached and lived a holy life, Shankara only preached and lived a holy life, and they have each worked a mighty revolution in the history of the world. Inspiration is real work.”[1]Sri Aurobindo, The Complete Works of Sri Aurobindo, Bande Mataram Volume 2, “Work and Ideal”, pp. 879–880. Source

I often found that Sri Aurobindo spoke of Shankara and Buddha together, and this led me to expand my research on both these towering personalities. This brief exploration below just touches the surface, but I felt it was a worthwhile staring point to explore their effect on the evolution of India.
